I only found one species to identify on this weeks summer id challenge, but boy did it prove to be a puzzle. Was I faced with a common spotted orchid or a heath spotted orchid. Read on to find out what identification methods I used to find out.
Week Five already!! Headed back to the New Forest for this weeks challenge to check out some of it’s different habitats. Join me for a stroll along the River Avon and then a trip into the enclosures around the Lyndhurst area of the New Forest.
Week Four of the challenge was a little bit different. With a heavy workload I wasn't able to head out on an ID quest, so I delved into my photography archives to unearth some unknown specimens.
Week Two of the Summer ID Challenge takes place on the New Forest - our wild next door neighbour. Just proving that you don’t have to go far to find wilderness. This week I focused mainly on trying to identify a few different types of wildflower.
