All in Summer ID Challenge
After taking a short break from the ID challenge, week nine see’s a triumphant return with the first coastal habitat of the summer. The RSPB’s Arne reserve gave us plenty of ID challenges from wildflowers to tiny rare damselflies.
Sometimes we don’t get time to head out in search of wild things; we have day to day responsibilities that need to be carried out - work, homelife, study etc. But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t wildlife in our everyday lives. So for this weeks Summer ID Challenge I ID’d the nature I found as I went about my daily routines - and I found some stunners…
I only found one species to identify on this weeks summer id challenge, but boy did it prove to be a puzzle. Was I faced with a common spotted orchid or a heath spotted orchid. Read on to find out what identification methods I used to find out.
Week Five already!! Headed back to the New Forest for this weeks challenge to check out some of it’s different habitats. Join me for a stroll along the River Avon and then a trip into the enclosures around the Lyndhurst area of the New Forest.
Week Four of the challenge was a little bit different. With a heavy workload I wasn't able to head out on an ID quest, so I delved into my photography archives to unearth some unknown specimens.

Week Two of the Summer ID Challenge takes place on the New Forest - our wild next door neighbour. Just proving that you don’t have to go far to find wilderness. This week I focused mainly on trying to identify a few different types of wildflower.
